David Leafblad was hired as the Head Boys' Tennis Coach at Andover High School, bringing a wealth of experience in both tennis and coaching. A former Blaine High School graduate, he has a wealth of northwest suburban tennis experience. He played college tennis at Bethel University and has honed his skills both on and off the court. With a background as a seasonal tennis pro, David has developed a keen understanding of the game, helping athletes enhance their skills and strategies. In addition to tennis, he also has experience coaching college basketball, showcasing his versatile coaching abilities. Passionate about mentoring young athletes, David is committed to fostering a competitive yet supportive environment for the boys' tennis team. David Leafblad resides in Blaine with his wife Ashley, Beckham, and Naomi.
Works at Oak View Middle School in Andover and has been with the High School Tennis program for 5 years
Luke’s tennis journey began in 6th grade at Oak View, and last year, he made his debut on the Andover High School team as a doubles player. This season, he’s stepping into singles competition as a dedicated 10th grader. Beyond the court, Luke is a well-rounded student involved in the chess club, math league, and orchestra, where he plays
Luke’s tennis journey began in 6th grade at Oak View, and last year, he made his debut on the Andover High School team as a doubles player. This season, he’s stepping into singles competition as a dedicated 10th grader. Beyond the court, Luke is a well-rounded student involved in the chess club, math league, and orchestra, where he plays the cello. He also works as a lifeguard and swim instructor at Roosevelt Community Pool. During the tennis off-season, he stays connected to the sport by managing the Andover Girls' Tennis team and playing at the local tennis facility. With his commitment to athletics, academics, and leadership, Luke continues to make a strong impact both on and off the court.

Emmet is closing out his fourth and final season with Andover Tennis as a proud captain of the 2025 Boys' team. Beyond his dedication on the court, he has spent the past two years supporting the girls' team as a valued manager each fall. His passion for teamwork extends beyond athletics—Emmet is also deeply involved in music, performing in Andover’s concert and chamber choirs. After graduation, he plans to attend North Dakota State University, where he will pursue a bachelor’s degree in General Psychology before advancing to graduate studies in Clinical Psychology. His future is bright, and his leadership, both on and off the court, will leave a lasting impact on Andover.
